What this is
Perennius runs online open calls and keeps a permanent public archive of the results. Each exhibition has its own page: the theme, the awards, every selected work, and a list of selected artists that does not change after it is published.
The point of the archive is that a selection can be cited. An artist who is selected gets a stable URL that names them and shows the work. That URL will still resolve in ten years.
How selection works
- Every call states who reviews the works. For Perennius Open, works are reviewed by the Perennius director.
- Works are judged on their own merits and on how they answer the theme of the call.
- The number of selected works is not fixed in advance. A call with few strong entries will have a small exhibition.
- Results are published on the date announced in the call, and every entrant is emailed that day.
What we promise selected artists
- Copyright stays with you. We take a non-exclusive licence to show the work on this site and in material about the exhibition, nothing more.
- Your exhibition page and your entry in the selected-artists list are permanent.
- Your artist page links out to your own website and social account, with a plain, followable link.
- AI-assisted works are labelled as such, so a selection here says what it says.
Programmes
- Perennius Prize — biannual. The Perennius Prize is awarded twice a year to artists selected by an independent jury from an international open call.
- Perennius Open — monthly. Perennius Open is a monthly themed open call. Selected works are shown in a permanent online exhibition with a public list of selected artists.
